All the Top Students Are Dead, So This Slacker Has to Step Up

[Apocalypse of Rules + Wild Imagination + Invincible (In the Literal Sense of Ignorant) + Survival]

I woke up to find the world turned upside down. A mysterious “Cognitive Catastrophe” had arrived. Knowledge was no longer power, but the deadliest of curses.

The moment a physicist understands “quantum entanglement,” his body dissolves into scattered particles. A renowned biologist, after grasping the “gene sequence,” mutates into an indescribable flower of flesh. A history professor is trapped forever on the ancient battlefield he studied, suffering the agony of blades and swords day and night.

I, Lin Bai, am a librarian with “hyperthymesia” who has spent my whole life longing to forget. I always thought I was the number one death-row prisoner under heaven. But at the moment the apocalypse arrived, I unexpectedly awakened an overpowered ability: “Cognitive Formatting.”

[Ding! You have forgotten Relativity. The physics curse has been nullified!]

[Ding! You have cleared the concept of “cell division.” The risk of biological mutation has decreased!]

As people burn books and bury scholars just to stay alive, humanity’s future rests on the songs of the illiterate and the ravings of the mad.

With my left hand, I delete universal gravitation; with my right, I wipe the periodic table clean. On this wasteland of knowledge, I preserve the last blank page for civilization.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m really not a top student. I’m just a courier of knowledge... and its eraser.
