When Neville Longbottom's sword was turned aside by a barrier of darkness, and Ron Weasley shoved his best friend away amid a flash of green light, the Battle of Hogwarts was rewritten as a blood-red elegy. Harry Potter was no longer The Boy Who Lived, but a fugitive fleeing defeat with the bodies of his friends on his back. Hermione Granger had lost every trace of innocence. All she had left was wisdom soaked in blood and a vow she had to fulfill.
They were no longer heroes, but two desperate fugitives struggling to survive amid the ruins of the magical world. Under Voldemort's dark rule and an endless global manhunt, hope had long since vanished. Drawing on the Black family's sealed tomes and the ancient echoes of Potter blood, they made themselves vessels for a power capable of tearing souls apart.
This was a thorny road with no return. Every narrow escape from death came with another blood debt they could never repay; every lesson in dark knowledge eroded the principles they had once clung to. They were each other's last anchor, holding on to a faint glimmer of humanity in the abyss of despair with cold kisses and broken embraces.
From the frozen ruins of the far north to the primeval rainforests of South America, they used the world as a chessboard and their lives as stakes in one final gamble. They sought not victory, but an end: a final conclusion that would drag all the pain, sacrifice, and darkness, along with the Dark Lord, into eternal oblivion.
When the final battlefield was no longer a castle of glory, and love and sacrifice were forged into the sharpest blade of revenge... could they kindle a faint light for this shattered world before they were swallowed by darkness completely?
The writing is very, very, very, very good. It reminds me of the revolutionary martyrs. Everyone is the same as the real ones. Ginny has also grown up. She is no longer Harry's spouse but a person with personality. I won't say it, but I am very looking forward to the ending of this book. No matter what, it will be good.
What a painful article. Ron's death, Hermione's face, Harry's bloody magic. So painful... My favorite triangle, so painful.
