Prince, You Forgot I Have No Heart

That year, in a heavy snowfall, he led his iron cavalry across my homeland and slaughtered everyone in the palace.

Yet he spared me alone and made me his princess consort.

Everyone said he hated me to the bone because I was the enemy kingdom's most beloved Ninth Princess.

He kept me imprisoned by his side, humiliating me day and night, while I ground his ink and poured his tea, serving him with a smile.

I swallowed every tear and every drop of blood, obediently pleasing him as I watched him slowly lose himself in my gaze.

Until he dismissed his entire harem for me and overcame all opposition to make me Empress.

On the night I donned the phoenix crown, I leaned close to his ear and laughed softly.

“Does Your Highness know why, after all these years of war, you have never had an heir?”

His hand, resting on my belly, suddenly went rigid.

I drank the nuptial wine he poured with his own hands, my breath sweet as orchids.

“Because from the moment you spared my life, I've been putting poison in your tea every day.”

“You destroyed my homeland. I cut off your bloodline. That's only fair.”
