In 2049, red fog descends and the world is plunged into a bizarre apocalypse. Ordinary young woman Lin Ye takes refuge in her family's ancestral home, where she unexpectedly discovers her grandfather's Yin-Yang Stockpiling Guide. This seemingly ordinary notebook turns out to be a vessel for rule-based horror. Its first rule is enough to make her blood run cold: “At midnight every day, you must burn incense before the ancient mirror in the courtyard, or a debt-collecting ghost will crawl out of it.”
When she breaks the rule for the first time, a black hand reaches out of the mirror and instantly steals all her supplies. In her desperate situation, Lin Ye uses the guide to turn the tables. She not only gains the ability to store items in a pocket dimension, but also opens a Yin-Yang Livestream Room connected to a mysterious dimension.
From then on, Lin Ye sets out on a desperate journey to stockpile supplies amid rule-based horrors. The “ghostly shadows on the shelves” in an abandoned supermarket demand candy offerings; in the hospital elevator, “you may only press the third floor”; and in a bank vault, “you must leave hair as collateral to take a gold bar”... Every supply-gathering site comes with deadly rules. Her livestream stockpiling diary attracts other survivors, and she establishes a refuge, only to find herself gradually drawn into a deeper conspiracy.
The mysterious disappearance of everyone in Shushen Village twenty years ago, the truth behind her grandfather becoming a “Guardian of the Rules,” and the presence of the Lovecraftian “Sleeping Mother” behind the red fog all begin to emerge. As the boundary between the mirror world and reality blurs, Lin Ye discovers that the rules can be rewritten, but every change comes at a terrible cost.
With help from Lu Xun, a mysterious former criminal investigation captain, she leads survivors through one rule-bound nightmare after another, shifting from passive survival to actively rewriting the rules, until at last she faces the terrifying truth behind the “Gate.” This is a legend of using wit and courage to “stockpile her way to godhood” in the apocalypse, and a battle for life and death as humanity searches for hope amid rules and madness.
