The Real Heiress Is Mute, but She's So Loud

[Word-Spirit] [Real and Fake Heiresses] [Inner Thoughts]

The Lin family's real heiress, Chen Lingling, grew up in the mountains. The grandmother who adopted her was a mountain spirit medium. Before she died, she told Lingling that her family would soon come to take her home. She warned her to keep quiet, just as she had in the mountains, or she would suffer backlash. Only by returning to the Lin family might she find a way to undo it. So when the Lin family brought her home, they all thought she was mute.

Chen Lingling never spoke aloud and could only complain in her heart. She had no idea that any family member or friend who truly cared about her could hear those complaints. Her grandfather, mother, eldest brother, and eldest sister all came to love her more and more after hearing her voice, and she helped them resolve many major problems. Even Hua Zhao, the gloomy heir to the Hua family, rumored to bring ruin to his father, mother, and fiancée, could hear her thoughts.

Being near Hua Zhao eased the backlash from speaking, and whenever she saw him, Chen Lingling couldn't help opening her mouth to talk. When Hua Zhao was near her, he felt a warmth. Though Chen Lingling thought he was creepy, she found herself drawn to him all the same. Neither expected to grow closer and closer.

Hua Zhao had no idea what curse had been placed on him. For years, he had felt as if he were living in a freezing cold storage room, and everyone close to him had either fallen ill or died. He had little hope for his own future, until he accidentally discovered that the Lin family's mute real heiress could speak, and that he could hear her inner complaints. Whenever he was near Chen Lingling, the cold in his body eased a little. He had meant to tease her, never expecting to give her his heart.
