Also known as South Wind Knows My Heart
At Nancheng No. 2 High School, two top students meet by chance.
Song Xian, the Chinese class representative, is gentle and refined, a young gentleman straight out of classical poetry. Chen Shuang, an English prodigy, is bold and carefree, the brightest star on the basketball court. A rainy day, one umbrella, and a tutoring session in the library bring two very different souls quietly closer as they test the waters.
“My Chinese is so good, yet I can’t describe how my heart feels right now.”
“My English is so fluent, yet I can’t find the words for how I feel right now.”
But when Song Xian’s mother discovers his secret feelings, the woman who sees her son as a stain on her life carefully orchestrates a car accident from which there is no return. After piecing together the truth and bringing the guilty to justice, Chen Shuang leaps from the roof of the classroom building, clutching a draft soaked in blood that reads, “Chen Shuang, love me openly and without shame.”
I can solve the most complicated equations, but I can’t calculate the odds of falling in love with you. I can understand the most obscure poems, but I can’t understand how dark a person’s heart can be.
“He died during the South Wind season. Since then, I’ve hated every damp season.”
