Ode to Joy: Fan Shengmei’s Reborn Life

Carrying the memories and resentment of her previous life, Fan Shengmei was reborn at the crucial turning point that could change her fate: the summer she turned twenty, just after receiving her acceptance letter from Fudan University. This time, she would no longer be the “eldest daughter of the Fan family,” drained dry by her birth family. Having learned in advance that she wasn’t their biological child, the top student Shen Nian (her real name) was determined to break free. She took on her exploitative parents and stood up to her scoundrel of a brother. Using the memories of her previous life, she gathered evidence and sent Fan Shengying to prison, then cut ties with the Fan family for good. By predicting the stock market and winning a lottery ticket that seemed destined for her, she went from a student from a poor family to a “hidden heiress” with tens of millions in assets. She bought a 300-square-meter duplex on the 22nd floor of Ode to Joy, decorated it to feel cozy while keeping her wealth discreet, and purchased several storefronts to rent out, securing a solid future for herself. From a “brother-supporting demon” dragged into the mire by her birth family to an independent woman with success in both her career and love life; from struggling alone to a happy ending for everyone on the 22nd floor: this is Fan Shengmei (Shen Nian)’s story of rebirth and turning her life around, as well as the heartwarming tale of a group of girls who light one another’s way and grow together in the city of Shanghai.
