Today marks the 500th anniversary of the expeditionary army from another world invading the human world. Humanity has safeguarded the spark of civilization and vows to drive the monsters back where they came from.
The protagonist, Fei Chai, is a professor at the Military University’s College of Human Civilization. Since it is the university’s only non-military department, the college is nearly invisible on campus and never gets a share of the good opportunities.
A chance encounter lets Fei Chai join a front-line observation group. At a critical moment, his guardian deity, the Nine-Tailed Fox, is summoned and helps Fei Chai and the other teachers and students return safely to campus. Fei Chai becomes a hero, and the College of Human Civilization’s standing rises accordingly.
With the Nine-Tailed Fox’s help, Fei Chai keeps summoning more divine beasts. Before long, he becomes a mainstay in humanity’s fight against the monsters from another world...
