The Eternal Day of the Doomsday Era

The sun never set again.

At first, people thought it was just another bout of extreme, abnormal weather. Then the city's greenbelts turned yellow and withered before their eyes, while pets and strays grew agitated, irritable, and aggressive. Panic on the internet was quietly erased, leaving only the authorities' same old announcements: “under control,” “a normal phenomenon,” and “please remain calm.”

Mei Shiyu was an ordinary city dweller who just wanted to grow a few vegetables on her balcony to get by. One day, while watering them as usual, she noticed an unfamiliar silvery liquid seeping from the soil, viscous and gleaming with an unnatural metallic sheen. On instinct, she filmed it and uploaded the video. A few minutes later, the video was gone, and her account was permanently banned.

Night fell... No, there was no night anymore. Under the scorching light of an eternal day, several people in fully sealed white protective suits, their faces impossible to make out, appeared downstairs at the old apartment building she rented. They went straight to her door and knocked.
