Contract Expired? The Immortals and Demons Won't Leave Me Alone

Zhao Yulong thought he was just an ordinary Taoist priest his younger sister had shoved into the 749 Bureau for a second career. His biggest worry was making next month's mortgage payment. Then, beneath the Dragon Palace in the East Sea, inside the tomb of an ancient Qi cultivator, the chaotic-colored “origin essence” within him awakened for the first time, revealing a power that transcended the rules.

The saintess of the Immortal Dao, Yun Zhi, believes he is the one destined to face the calamity. Chi Lian, a venerable expert of the Demonic Dao, sees him as her one and only confidant. But when alarms from the Global Supernatural Council ring out across the skies and the shadow of “Guixu” begins devouring the world, Zhao Yulong finally understands just how terrifying a fate is tied to the power he possesses.

He travels through the secret realms of the Dragon Palace, uncovering the mysteries of the “Origin Fragments,” then ventures deep into the forbidden lands of Kunlun Ruins to face the choice of the “Key to the End.” Along the Path of Self-Reflection, he sees his true self; before the Wall of Ten Thousand Arts, he deduces the Dao and grasps the truth; beneath the Demon-Suppressing Platform, he fights a bloody battle to protect the key. As he journeys on, Zhao Yulong gradually uncovers the truth: he is descended from the bloodline of the ancient “Lord of Creation.” He also sees through the world-ending scheme of the “Divine Lord,” who seeks to return all things to nothingness.

This is no simple battle between good and evil. It is a struggle over the Dao of “Origin” and “End,” concerning the very nature of existence in the universe. Zhao Yulong wields “origin essence” and bears the bloodline of “Creation,” standing at the eye of the storm. His choices will determine not only the safety of his loved ones and the survival of all living beings, but also whether the Myriad Worlds head toward eternal annihilation or find a delicate balance and a new beginning.
