Listening to the Wind Deep in the Wutong Grove

[Two male leads] [Proud, unruly beauty Li Zhiyu x dark, scheming Ao Shen, who cannot walk] [Past and present lives] Includes a next-life storyline.

In the Republic of China era, in Yunxi Pass, Li Zhiyu, the Li family’s third young master, was notorious for being a troublemaker. He had striking, delicate features, a defiant glint in his eyes, and no regard for worldly rules. Only Jiyue, the steward’s son, could make him lower his guard. Their bond had long since crossed the boundaries between master and servant, and feelings had quietly begun to bloom.

But their unspoken affection ultimately ran into the iron wall of social status.

When Master Li found out, he flew into a rage. Declaring that they were not a suitable match, he forcibly tore them apart and drove Jiyue from the Li family home.

Already frail, Jiyue had no one left to rely on. The blow left him bedridden, and in the end, he did not survive that winter.

Stricken with grief over the loss of the person he loved most, Li Zhiyu was trapped in bottomless sorrow. Just as he seemed unable to escape it, fate took an unexpected turn: by a twist of circumstance, he crossed paths with Ao Shen, the Ao family’s third young master. What began with each of them harboring their own intentions slowly drew them into deeper entanglements, and a new story quietly began.

This is a tale of love and hatred steeped in the spirit of the great families of the Republic of China. The regrets and obsessions within its pages are waiting to be discovered and savored.
