A Glimmer in White: The Patient Who Stole My Heart

Su Wanxing, a nurse just starting out in the emergency department, thought she was beginning the ideal life of saving lives. Instead, on her very first day, she ran into Lu Shiyan, the “walking iceberg” and director of neurosurgery. He was a top surgical talent in the field and a “detail-obsessed maniac” who struck fear into all the medical staff. After a mistake during an emergency resuscitation, Su Wanxing was publicly berated by him until she could barely hold her head up, and from then on, the two were at odds.

But fate insisted on tying them together. During a multi-car crash rescue, she risked her own safety to save his younger sister. In the break room on a late-night shift, he quietly brought her hot milk after she worked until her blood sugar dropped. Outside a complex surgery, her keen eye spotted an abnormality in the patient and helped him avert a medical crisis. As the two clashed like needle and flint, fighting side by side time and again, they gradually saw the warmth and steadfastness beneath each other’s hard shells.

Just as their feelings began to grow, Su Wanxing accidentally discovered that her mother’s old illness was inextricably linked to Lu Shiyan’s past. A sudden medical dispute at the hospital also thrust them into the eye of the storm. Would they run away or face it together? Beneath their white coats, they wielded love like a blade, cutting through misunderstanding and gloom. Together, they gathered their light into a warmth that could illuminate the lives of their patients and each other.
