Lotuses Bloom in Pairs in Yunmeng

Everyone says Jiang Wanyin, Sect Leader of the Jiang Clan, is as cold as iron, with his Zidian whip and Three Poisons. A sharp-tongued, guarded sect leader who never says what he means x a gentle yet tough medical cultivator and infrastructure fanatic Lotus Pier is in dire need of rebuilding. Yun Yao, the second daughter of the Yun Clan of Yunzhou, arrives with the secret arts of Shennong. She treats the injured and nurtures spirit plants, using her delicate frame to shoulder half the world. Jiang Cheng thinks this is just another transaction. He watches coldly, waiting for her to bare her claws and reveal what she wants. But instead, she stands between him and danger. She tenderly cares for Jin Ling. And in her own blessed realm, she lays the foundation for Yunmeng’s prosperity for ten thousand years to come. Later, Wei Wuxian returns, and the past cuts into Jiang Cheng like a knife. In the middle of the night, he knocks on her door, his voice hoarse and more panicked than she has ever heard it: “Yun Yao... will you leave too?” Looking at the hand gripping Zidian, Yun Yao answers softly, “Jiang Cheng, the lotuses I planted haven’t bloomed yet. Where would I go?”
