Xu Dingkun, a top medical PhD, transmigrates after collapsing from a series of surgeries. When he wakes, he finds himself in the body of Xu Kun, the fifteen-year-old youngest son of Xu Dingguo, a farmer in a remote village in the Great Jing Dynasty. The boy has been frail and sickly since childhood, earning him the nickname “sickly lad” among the neighbors. The Xu family has also been left penniless after years of paying for his medical care.
Armed with modern medical knowledge and a perspective far ahead of his time, Xu Dingkun, now Xu Kun, begins by nursing his own health back to normal. His precise understanding of pharmacology enables him to cure a chronic illness with common herbs. He then uses his medical skills to treat his neighbors, building a reputation and earning his first fortune. He improves crop cultivation and identifies valuable medicinal herbs, leading his family out of poverty and gradually making a name for himself.
From village doctor to founder of a medical college that trains new talent, from opening a chain of clinics to building a nationwide healthcare system, his medicine benefits countless people and reduces the toll of epidemics on the country. But medicine isn't his only contribution. With ideas far ahead of his time, he drives change: founding Yege University to teach mathematics, science, business, and agriculture; establishing trade routes and a direct-sales network connecting sixteen neighboring nations to boost the national economy; founding a weight-loss academy to promote healthy living; and even expanding into people's livelihoods, military affairs, and other fields. With his all-around talents, he helps the Great Jing Dynasty strengthen its national power and expand its fortunes, ultimately growing from a farmer's son into a pivotal figure who shapes the course of his age.
This story is really wonderful. Anyway, I have watched several movies, and this one is the best one.
