A New Path for the Han: Assisting Emperor Wu

Xiao Huaijin, a graduate student of history, is swept away by an accident and awakens in the Han dynasty, in the Jian Yuan era, as a fallen scion of a once-prominent family. At the time, the young Emperor Wu of Han, Liu Che, has only just ascended the throne. He is ambitious and eager for progress, yet held back at every turn by Empress Dowager Dou and conservative ministers. The court is dominated by Huang-Lao thought, and the empire's mighty lion is trapped in a cage. Xiao Huaijin knows this is an age of heroes, but also one fraught with danger. To protect himself, and out of his yearning for the glorious Han dynasty, he decides to use knowledge from more than a thousand years in the future to light a thorny path to prosperity for this ambitious young emperor. His first step is to present the long-sealed Map of the Western Regions to the emperor a century ahead of schedule.
