She suddenly opened her eyes. Instead of the hospital’s glaring, deathly white ceiling, she saw a familiar yet unfamiliar off-white ceiling, with a cute, fluffy little cloud-shaped night-light hanging in the middle. It was the canopy over her bed in her university dorm.
What was going on? In disbelief, she raised her hands. Her fingers were slender but healthy and well-proportioned, and her nails were a healthy pink, smooth and glossy. They weren’t like she remembered: often faintly blue from prolonged oxygen deprivation, with nails sunken into what was known as “spoon nails.”
These weren’t the withered, pale hands ravaged by illness! Her heart beat strongly and steadily in her chest, its vibrant pulse almost spilling over: this was a vigorous vitality she had never experienced in her twenty-five years of life in her previous life!
The writing is really good. I have been following this novel. Why has it not been updated in the past few days? [Almost crying]
