After My Wife's Anger Brought Me Back to Life, I Set Her Free

It was over forty degrees Celsius outside, but my wife insisted I work part-time as a delivery driver to help us buy a house. She lectured me earnestly: “There’s extra pay for working in this heat. You need to earn more while you can. If I let you slack off every day, when will we ever save enough for a down payment?” I thought she had a point, so I gritted my teeth and kept going. That day, I suffered heatstroke and died on the road. After I died, I saw my wife and the man she’d always loved hiding in the sofa of our rented apartment, relaxing in the air conditioning and eating watermelon. She’d even used our down payment savings to order him a luxury car. Her beloved asked how she was going to explain it to me. My wife didn’t care. “After a while, I’ll just make up some excuse and tell Song Ming the money was stolen. He loves me so much, he won’t blame me. He’ll even work hard to save it up again and quietly replace the money for me.” “Take this money and spend it. If you need more, just ask me.” Seeing my usually stingy wife being so generous to the man she loved, I was so furious I came back to life. When I opened my eyes again, my wife was once more urging me to take a part-time job and earn money for a down payment. This time, I didn’t eagerly agree. Instead, I took the initiative and asked for a divorce. “I can’t afford the down payment. Want me to give you your freedom instead?”
