Espionage: I Can Rewrite My Intelligence

In 1937, Shanghai's foreign concessions were rife with undercurrents. Shen Yan, a modern intelligence analyst, transmigrated into the role of a low-ranking Japanese military intelligence translator and awakened the [Intelligence Alteration System]. By touching a target, he could generate a “false intelligence data package,” corrupting enemy encrypted messages, files, and eyewitness testimony beyond recognition!

Under the suspicious scrutiny of the intelligence chief, he altered interrogation records, turning a traitor's false testimony into a confession by a Japanese army mole. When surrounded by a Nationalist assassination squad, he forged a secret order that turned the pursuers against their own side and sent them storming a Japanese arms depot. When his underground Communist Party contact station was exposed, he changed the radio frequency records, redirecting the manhunt toward the infamous No. 76.

From a minor translator in the foreign concessions to a “rising intelligence star” in the Japanese army, from a “blacklist target” of the Nationalists to a “mysterious ally” of the underground Communist Party, Shen Yan wielded a single alteration pen to stir up a spy war between the Japanese collaborators, the Nationalists, and the Communists. When Tokyo's Imperial General Headquarters moved troops based on his forged “Songhu Defense Plan,” and when Dai Li purged his ranks using the “Japanese spy list” Shen Yan had altered, Shen Yan stood atop the Broadway Mansions and sneered: “The true art of intelligence warfare isn't uncovering the truth. It's creating a ‘truth’ the enemy will believe.”
