Itch in My Bones

Wangchuan Cliff’s Mei Pavilion is the one place in the cultivation world no one dares to provoke.

[Cultivation fantasy + fiercely protective + satisfying face-slapping]

The pavilion master, Qin Yu, is at the Mahayana stage, powerful enough to make the great orthodox sects tremble. Her face is alluringly elegant but never vulgar, and she’s so fiercely protective she’s practically unhinged. “Even if one of the girls in my pavilion pulls down the flagpole of Qingyun Sect, it’s not for outsiders to criticize!”

The girls in the pavilion are even more impressive. Music cultivator Su Mian can shatter inner demons with her strings; formation cultivator Lan Ying can trap and slay ten thousand fiends; alchemist Wantang can bring the dead back to life and restore flesh to bones. Even Chuyao, the most reviled for her bewitching arts, can help cultivators break through with them. They never grovel after potential partners. They choose either core disciples of Qingyun Sect or prodigies from Cangwu Mountain. When strong people join forces, it’s enough to make everyone else envious.

Yet some people insist on being blind. An elder of Qingyun Sect calls Su Mian a “seductress” and barges in to cripple her cultivation. Tianyan Sect spreads rumors that Mei Pavilion “drains men’s yang energy to nourish women’s yin,” then secretly sends assassins to ambush them. Conservative sects join forces to shut Mei Pavilion down, claiming that “women practicing magic is evil!”

Qin Yu runs her fingers over the “Itchy Strings” guqin, woven from ice-silk. When the notes ring out, they shatter the rumors; when her spiritual power strikes, she face-slaps everyone in sight. “There’s no good or evil in cultivation techniques, and gender isn’t an excuse for being a good-for-nothing!”

At the Grand Arts Tournament, she leads the girls in showing off their skills: musical attacks that subdue the soul, formations that trap fiends, and pills that save lives. They astonish the entire cultivation world. When a tide of inner demons breaks out, she takes the lead in fighting them off, and Mei Pavilion becomes the last line of defense, forcing everyone who once doubted them to submit!

From then on, everyone in the cultivation world knows: don’t provoke Mei Pavilion. The fiercely protective Qin Yu and her beautiful, powerful girls are the ones you really shouldn’t mess with!
