In 2099, the technology of the “New Cang City” is highly advanced, with hovercars and holographic projections commonplace. Yet ordinary people know nothing about cultivation or the various races, while countless “anomalous events” are concealed in everyday life, such as convenience stores that vanish in the middle of the night and moving billboards. The “spirit realms” attached to the city are the main spaces where cultivators and the various races operate. Their entrances are hidden in corners such as alleys in the old district, abandoned subway stations, and network blind spots. Within the spirit realms, the flow of time and the laws of space differ from those of the surface world.
