Data Goddess: A Workplace Comeback Plan

Lin Wan is a data analyst in the marketing department at Xingtu Technology, an “invisible” employee who has received the lowest performance ratings and taken the blame for every disaster for three years, all because she refused to “polish the numbers” for her direct supervisor, Su Manni. When the company launches a trillion-yuan Smart City project, Su Manni steals her core proposal again and joins forces with the vice president to push her to the brink of quitting. Then Lin Wan unexpectedly activates the ancestral Business Strategy Data Record.

From that day on, the chaotic reports before her eyes become clear maps of business trends, and data fragments reveal her competitors’ hidden strategies. Her user profiles are so precise they’re almost frightening, helping a new department turn its fortunes around. She uses data forecasts to head off a company crisis and even exposes a rival’s business trap at a drinking party with a data model.

“Lin Wan, you’re taking the fall whether you like it or not!” Su Manni sneers. Lin Wan simply throws out a chain of data evidence and leaves her disgraced. “Data analysts shouldn’t make themselves stand out,” the vice president says, trying to suppress her. She turns around and wins the industry’s top award, with the CEO personally there to support her.

But the mysterious CEO, Gu Chenzhou, who is always watching her from the shadows, seems to be more than he appears. He has shielded her from workplace sabotage, yet keeps sending her data-analysis puzzles late at night to test her. When Lin Wan discovers a scandal behind the Smart City project that could upend the entire industry, and learns that Gu Chenzhou is deeply connected to it all, she grips the data record and sneers: “You want to play? I’ll take you all on!”
