Relics and Echoes

The life of Chen Xun, an antique restorer, is turned upside down when he receives an unopenable bronze box from his missing grandfather. This relic, containing “super-ancient technology,” opens a door to the hidden side of the world.

Beyond that door, beneath the neon lights of modern civilization, lie countless ancient ruins known as “Anomalous Historical Resonance Zones.” They are tombs and temples, but also prisons holding cosmic horrors known as the “Silent Ones.” A secret organization called the “Eternal Bulwark Administration” protects humanity’s fragile sanity from the shadows, while the mad “Dawn Cult” longs to awaken the Old Gods and welcome an apocalyptic revel.

To follow in his grandfather’s footsteps, Chen Xun draws on his innate, mysterious gift for “resonance” and the deft hands of a restorer to decipher and repair one ancient “Forerunner relic” after another. From a ghostly subway buried deep underground, to an upside-down library beneath the desert sands, to a silent celestial palace among the stars… He ventures into forbidden sites that even tomb raiders fear to approach, battling “Cthulhu-esque” horrors capable of shattering the mind.

As the truth is peeled back layer by layer, he discovers that his fate has long been bound to the survival of human civilization. The abyss is watching. Only by facing fear can he hear hope’s echo.
