My Husband by Contract Is Actually the King of the Underworld

“When I was ten, a marriage contract bound me to the King of the Underworld. At eighteen, I broke a taboo and met my ‘underworld husband.’”

Song Qingdai was born missing a soul fragment, making her an easy target for evil spirits. At ten, she was forced into a ghost marriage with someone from the underworld to keep herself safe. For eight years, she strictly observed the taboo against getting close to men, until her eighteenth birthday, when her best friend persuaded her to attend a karaoke party. There she met an older student, Zhang Boran. On the way home, Zhang Boran revealed his true colors and tried to harm her. At the critical moment, He Lingyuan, the King of the Underworld bound to her by a marriage contract, appeared to save her.

The King of the Underworld, dressed in black with dark hair, claimed to be her “underworld husband” and sternly warned her never to break the taboo again. From then on, Song Qingdai was swept into a vortex of fate full of danger and uncertainty. She gradually discovered that deeper secrets lay behind their ghost marriage: the soul fragment she had lost was no accident, but had been deliberately stolen; the pact the King of the Underworld made with her was both an act of protection and a deal that concerned the stability of the underworld; and her unusual soul might be the key to unraveling an ancient pact.

As the truth gradually comes to light, Song Qingdai must choose between passively accepting protection and actively seeking answers. Her bond with the King of the Underworld grows ever deeper, while the causes and effects of their past lives, the schemes of evil spirits, and the mysteries surrounding their identities also begin to emerge.
