A Century of Listening to Dreams

After breaking up with her boyfriend, Lin Le’er, a student at East China Normal University, walked into a tree and lost her phone. Somehow, it transmigrated to Huangpu Island in Guangzhou in 1924, where it struck Dong Sichen as he was heading to report to the Whampoa Military Academy. Dong Sichen picked up the strange object that glowed and sang, and unexpectedly got through to Lin Le’er. Both were baffled, then discovered they were in different eras.

After that, Dong Sichen kept thinking about returning the phone even as he studied at the academy. Lin Le’er, meanwhile, moved on from her breakup and looked forward to getting in touch again. They spoke frequently and shared details of their lives, and their feelings quietly grew through their conversations. But the differences and conflicts between their eras sometimes caused friction, which they always resolved by talking things through.

In the end, Dong Sichen found a possible way to travel through time and met Lin Le’er at the point where their eras converged. They embraced, and this love that had crossed a century began a beautiful new chapter, becoming a tale passed down for generations.
