The Purple-Robed Young Taoist Priestess Goes Ghost Hunting

Mount Wutai is not actually inaccessible to ordinary people, but its distinctive geography and cultural significance do place certain limits on visitors. As the foremost of China's Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains, Mount Wutai sits at a high altitude and has a changeable climate. It is closed for half the year during winter, and visitors must hike or take special vehicles to reach the central area. During busy religious events, access may be restricted to nonbelievers, and some temples are open only to practitioners. Together, these factors create the impression that “ordinary people can't go there.” Qiu Xiaoxiao is only eighteen, yet she is already the youngest Purple-Robed Celestial Master on Mount Wutai. One night, while she was fast asleep, her ancestor Zhang Daoling appeared in a dream and told her that turning eighteen would bring a tribulation. She would have to spend three years honing herself in the outside world to overcome it. The next day, she packed her things, said goodbye to everyone in her sect, and went down the mountain to gain experience.
