A Substitute Bride, Fireworks, and a Champion's Appetite

{Su Wan} lives with her aunt and is forced to take her cousin {Su Qing}'s place in marrying {Lu Yan}, an athletic champion rumored to be “cold and difficult to deal with.” Her cousin dismisses the Lu family as having only honors and no real power, unaware that Lu Yan has long been considered a “priority for protection” by his friend, a tech mogul.

Faced with her aunt’s family making things difficult, a hypocritical friend’s jealousy, and power-hungry schemers coveting the Lu family’s resources, Su Wan remains unruffled. With her excellent cooking, she turns the Lu family dining table into a “healing haven,” warming Lu Yan’s heart with a bowl of hot soup and winning over his circle of friends with exquisite pastries.

When her identity as a substitute is exposed, Lu Yan holds out a ring to her. “From beginning to end, you’re the only one I wanted.” Su Wan uses food to triumph over household intrigue and rejects every scheme, ultimately becoming a light in her own right.
