The Villainess Becomes the Sickly Male Lead's Dearest One

Wen Yan, a brilliant businesswoman, unexpectedly dies of sudden cardiac arrest on the night her company celebrates going public. When she wakes, she has become the villainess with the same name in a yandere novel she had just read.

The original Wen Yan is the second daughter of the Wen family. She obsessively takes everything from her older sister, Wen Xiyu, especially fixating on the male lead, He Zhou, president of the He Group. In the end, the yandere He Zhou pushes her off a balcony, killing her.

Wen Yan arrives at the exact moment the original is caught sneaking a look at He Zhou while he’s bathing, an utterly mortifying scene. Knowing what happens in the story, she is terrified out of her mind. She hurriedly keeps her distance from He Zhou and applies to study abroad, wanting only to escape the clutches of the “venomous heroine” and the “unhinged male lead.”

When Wen Xiyu keeps framing her with one accusation after another, Wen Yan draws on her modern workplace savvy to counter each move. Meanwhile, He Zhou, accustomed to the original Wen Yan’s constant pursuit, becomes restless and irritable when she suddenly distances herself. At a gathering, he accidentally sees through Wen Xiyu’s false facade. He also learns that the person who saved him in the stairwell years ago was not Wen Xiyu, but Wen Yan, whom he had misunderstood for years.

The truth sends He Zhou into a frenzy. When he learns Wen Yan is about to leave the country, he rushes to the airport to stop her, but wary Wen Yan mistakes him for trouble and sneaks away.

Unwilling to let her go, He Zhou follows her overseas. Thus begins a yandere CEO’s relentless pursuit of the “runaway” villainess…
