An old letter with no sender, a strange relic, and a nightmare passed down through the bloodline.
Lin Wei, an office worker in the city, receives an anonymous letter from a stranger in the remote town of Moling. Enclosed is a chillingly cold black statue of an ominous design.
The letter warns: “Don’t stare at it for too long, especially at night…”
Driven by curiosity, she touches the statue, and from that moment on, her world begins to fall apart. The lights flicker for no reason. Faint whispers sound directly in her mind, and strange shadows she can’t quite make out linger at the edges of her vision. Worse still, her own shadow grows fainter with each passing day.
Seeking the truth, Lin Wei is forced to travel to the isolated town of Moling, only to find it desolate and silent, shrouded in fog and an invisible dread. The last surviving keeper of secrets tells her that the statue, known as “Shadow Eater,” longs to be touched and hates being restrained. It feeds on people’s attention and shadows until it has hollowed them out completely.
And her bloodline is the key that will awaken it.
Her only hope of survival is to find the legacy of the fabled “keepers of secrets” and return Shadow Eater to its “rightful place.” But the keepers of secrets have long since perished, and their clues lie scattered in fragments. With only her mother’s vague notes and a mysterious crystal that can “see through illusions” to guide her, Lin Wei must solve the ancient riddle, “Only through the cracked eye can the true crystal be seen,” while Shadow Eater and its servants pursue her without end.
Her journey leads to an abandoned observatory deep in Shadowgap Mountain, where a light capable of ending everything lies buried, its radiance...
