Glory of the Di Daughter: The Beloved Princess Consort Becomes Empress

The Duke of Zhenguo’s household had long hoped for a daughter. When their legitimate daughter, Su Jinxi, was born, the whole family was overjoyed. The duke broke with the tradition of favoring sons over daughters, while her eldest brother, Su Jinchen, a master of both literature and martial arts, and her second brother, Su Jinyan, a highly skilled physician, became her doting brothers, treating her like a treasure. From a young age, Su Jinxi displayed a golden finger: she never forgot anything she read. She secretly learned medicine from her second brother and studied ancient texts. A chance encounter in the palace also brought her into the orbit of Crown Prince Xiao Jingyuan.

After coming of age, Su Jinxi used her golden finger to make a name for herself. She proposed sound strategies for disaster relief and offered military tactics that helped her brother repel the enemy. But she also attracted the envy and schemes of Liu Yanran, the chancellor’s daughter. Fortunately, her brothers joined forces to protect her, and she escaped danger time and again. The Crown Prince’s affection for Su Jinxi deepened, and he insisted on marrying her, but the emperor hesitated and his ministers objected because of the Duke of Zhenguo’s power. The two faced the opposition together. Su Jinxi exposed forged letters and cleared her family of the false charge of colluding with the enemy, while the empress gave them her full support. At last, they overcame every obstacle and held a grand wedding.

After the wedding, Su Jinxi used her wisdom to strengthen the Eastern Palace and help the Crown Prince foil Prince Xiao Jingrui’s plot to seize the throne and quell a palace coup. When the Crown Prince ascended the throne, she was crowned empress. She introduced policies that benefited the people and quelled the remaining rebellions, winning the people’s love. In the end, Su Jinxi gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl. Her happy life, surrounded by her family’s love, continued, and she and the emperor ushered in a prosperous era for the dynasty, completing the legendary journey from pampered legitimate daughter to wise empress.
