The System Wants Me to Win Over the Empress, But She’s My Wife

[Matriarchal society + mistaken assumptions + misaligned System + one heroine]

I, Gu Yan, am the only Phoenix Lord of the Great Feng Kingdom.

In the eyes of the court officials, I'm a country boy who rose to power on his looks, a pretty-faced troublemaker living off his wife.

In the eyes of enemy nations, I'm the one weakness by the empress's side, a soft target they can manipulate at will.

In the eyes of the System, I'm a bachelor who transmigrated here five years ago and hasn't even held his wife's hand.

But the truth is

When the Southern Barbarians invade and the court officials are at a loss, I bring out the [Stirrup Blueprint] awarded by the System. “My dear, try this. It'll double the cavalry's combat strength.”

The empress: “My husband is a genius!”

When envoys from the Eastern Yi humiliate me with their treasures, I bring out the [Glassmaking Method] awarded by the System. “My dear, sell them these trinkets and empty their treasury.”

The empress: “I'll do whatever my husband says.”

When the empress of Northern Yan tries to drive a wedge between us, I immediately activate my System reward and expose her scheme on the spot.

The empress: “Anyone who dares steal my husband will be executed, no matter how far away they are!”

And so, a saying spreads throughout the Great Feng Kingdom:

One smile from the Phoenix Lord brings ten thousand taels of gold; one embrace fills the treasury; one kiss summons divine troops from the heavens!

Feng Chaoling: “Husband, what reward would you like tonight...?”

Gu Yan: “For the sake of the kingdom, we must have another round of ‘(_person_) intimate relations’ tonight!”
