The Black Phoenix Strikes Back: The Downfall of Those in Power

Beneath the bustle of Huimin Market in the emerging first-tier city of Chengzhong lies the vilest kind of evil. Liang Tianhu, head of the Black Phoenix Gang, hides his monopolizing of the market, drug trafficking, and illegal casinos behind the mask of a “businessman who serves the people.” With violence and profit, he has woven a black web that ensnares both public officials and ordinary citizens. He clawed his way up from a childhood of humiliation, convinced that “might makes right.” But in his cat-and-mouse game with the tenacious detective Lu Xian, his vulnerabilities are exposed one by one: threatened shopkeepers, minors made into scapegoats, protectors who switch sides, and trusted aides who betray him… As the provincial task force closes its net, Liang Tianhu fights desperately to hold on to his power, resorting to kidnapping and framing others, but in the end, he cannot escape the fate that evil will be repaid. This is a dark story with a villain at its center, tearing away the hypocritical mask of organized crime to reveal the human degradation and destruction wrought by the tangle of power and desire.
