The App Has Come to Life!!

Fang Juexia is just an ordinary college student who’s down to his last few bucks by the end of every month. Then, after a high fever, he discovers that he can hear phone apps talk!

The food delivery app complains about the pressure of bad reviews, short-video apps relentlessly recommend tacky clips, and even the National Anti-Fraud Center app becomes a snarky commentator: “Warning! New supernatural scam detected: impersonate Qin Shi Huang for just 288 yuan and summon the Terracotta Army! Some soldiers may be missing an arm or a leg.”

Before he can even complain about how ridiculous it all is, his roommate cries out from outside the window, “Awaken, Dragon King of the Apocalypse!” The result? He can only control the flame on a lighter.

When he tremblingly opens the anti-fraud app to report his roommate, his life goes completely off the rails: “Hello. Congratulations, you have awakened the ‘Digital Concept Resonance’ ability. You are now being conscripted into the Bureau of Anomalous Affairs. Five social insurances and one housing fund, with room and board included. You’ll probably even live to retirement age!”

And so, the most unreliable supernatural ability team in history is born.
