Synopsis

Want to uncover the mysteries of the ancient war between gods and demons? Investiture of the Gods: The Story Behind the Legends takes you back to the fantastical era when the Shang and Zhou dynasties changed hands! Here, the foolish King Zhou is bewitched by a fox spirit and rules with debauchery and cruelty, filling the court with chaos through tortures like roasting people alive and throwing them into pits of venomous creatures, as well as carving out hearts and gouging out eyes. Meanwhile, Jiang Ziya descends from the mountains on his master's orders, bearing the Investiture of the Gods and assisting King Wu of Zhou in raising an army against King Zhou. The battle between good and evil begins. Immortals of the Chan Sect and Jie Sect clash with their magical arts, each displaying their powers: Nezha, with three heads and eight arms; Yang Jian, with his seventy-two transformations; Tu Xingsun, who travels underground... Countless heroes and demons make their grand entrances. The book offers both gripping battlefield clashes and delightful mythological tales, bringing you an unprecedented feast of gods and demons!
