Criminal Law: Gray Blade of Harbor City

Hong Kong, 2023. Chen Yan, a former inspector with the Serious Crime Unit, spent eight years in prison after taking the fall for his partner. Shortly after his release, the leader of a cross-border fraud ring known as “Ghost Hand” walks free for lack of evidence. His crimes have indirectly driven several victims to suicide, including someone connected to an old case involving Chen Yan’s wife. To make up for past regrets and punish evildoers beyond the reach of the law, Chen Yan secretly investigates cases by “gray-area means,” putting him at odds with his former partner, Lu Chen, who remains committed to due process. Forensic examiner Su Xiao repeatedly breaks cases open with her precise autopsies. Together, the three find themselves torn between loyalty and principle, justice and rules, as they take on cases in the legal blind spots, from cross-border fraud to school bullying and fatal domestic abuse. In the end, they expose the deeper criminal network behind “Ghost Hand,” and, through saving one another, redefine the weight of justice.
