Lin Wei is a model young adult by today's standards, firmly convinced that "as long as I lie flat enough, life can't crush me." One moment she's asleep; the next, she's been bound to some contraption called the [Show-Off System] and dumped into the high-risk world of Jujutsu Kaisen, right in the middle of the "youthful" days when Satoru Gojo, Suguru Geto, and their classmates are eighteen.
From the start, she makes Gojo call her Dad.
The System's missions are bizarre beyond belief. She has to make the Slit-Mouthed Woman doubt herself through "aesthetic discourse" and "reverse manipulation," not violence; "infuse cursed energy" into a nearly dead pothos and "bless it with words" until it becomes an "enlightened pothos"; and even invent a sacred origin story for a broken lucky cat she found in a garbage pile, then recruit "believers"... The penalties for failure are mortifying too, like being forced to waltz with a dictionary or making fart noises whenever she touches anything.
Fortunately, Lin Wei is beautiful and cool-looking. Unfortunately, she ruins that impression the moment she opens her mouth: she's full of cheeky remarks and has a particular weakness for beautiful people. So the atmosphere at Jujutsu High begins to change. While others exorcise curses with cursed techniques and physical combat, she relies on her silver tongue and "philosophical debates" that no one understands but that leave them deeply impressed. While others train their physical fitness and cursed energy, she does squats and mutters that she's "drawing power from the earth." And while others study theory in class, she explains Sartre's "existence precedes essence" using the driving test.
Eighteen-year-old Satoru Gojo finds her more interesting than Limitless. Suguru Geto starts questioning his life and philosophy. Shoko Ieiri discovers the perfect source of entertainment, while her junior Yu Haibara becomes her most devout target for a good-natured con.
The pairing has not yet been decided.
