Three Lives, Three Worlds: A Begonia Flower's Fate
Synopsis
This is a love story spanning three lifetimes and both the immortal and human realms. The begonia serves as a token of fate, binding the goddess Caiqin and Lin Yi, the Divine Lord who protects the realms, in a life-and-death bond.
In their first life, they meet in Peach Blossom City in the human realm. They fall in love beneath the peach trees, but the top scholar disappears in a mountain flood. Caiqin waits for him for six years in her mortal form. When she finally learns the truth, her heart breaks and she takes her own life. As her soul returns to the peach grove, only a single begonia remains as a keepsake.
In their second life, Caiqin is reborn as a healer at the Begonia Clinic in Jiangnan, while Lin Yi becomes a general searching for medicine. An accidental touch of a floral hairpin awakens fragments of their memories, but the barriers between their identities lead to another tragic parting. As they seek their memories and the truth, their resolve to “risk their lives to find love” only grows stronger.
In their third life, they awaken to their divine natures in the realm between immortals and demons. One is a goddess of the Begonia Immortal Sect; the other, a Divine Lord guarding the Demon Abyss. Facing the age-old conflict between immortals and demons and a love curse left over from their previous lives, they join forces to brave the trials of the flower realm and uncover the curse's origin. In the end, they bring forth the divine begonia tree of the Three Realms and stand together as divine consorts, guarding Flower Isle. Their love across three lifetimes becomes an eternal tale passed down through the Three Realms, and their vow, “Bound by the begonia, faithful for three lifetimes,” takes root at last.
