A Little Fire God Leapt Out of the Alchemy Dregs

Su Xiaole, an outer disciple of the Flowing Cloud Sect, is such a good-for-nothing that he can turn even the simplest entry-level pill into a “headbutt training aid.” Then one day, while making pills, he digs a mischievous little creature calling itself the “Chaos Fire Sprite” out of the charred dregs. The little fire sprite has no interest in properly cultivating its spirit. It would rather cause trouble. It claims the sect’s inherited Pill Canon is full of errors, scorches an inner disciple’s spirit-silk robes into rags, and even threatens to refine the steward’s jade pendant into a lump of iron. And so begins the chaotic life of a man and a spirit. Su Xiaole is forced to follow the fire sprite as it “corrects” alchemy techniques. The pills they produce sometimes make spirit pigs fly and sometimes turn an elder’s beard green. Meanwhile, using Su Xiaole as its hands, the fire sprite turns the sect upside down, only to save the day at crucial moments with its unconventional abilities. When a good-for-nothing cultivator meets a rebellious fire sprite, will they blast a hole through the sect’s alchemy hall, or accidentally forge a cultivation path that overturns all convention? “Warning! Your little fire sprite is chewing on the sect’s sacred spiritwood again!” “...Tell it to take it easy. I don’t want it chipping a tooth.” And so begins a cultivation tale full of ridiculous mishaps.
