Jinling Embroidery: Twin Lotuses Amid the Flames of War

In 1937, the flames of war tore through Jinling. Japanese invaders trampled the lovely spring dreams of the Qinhuai River, and once-prosperous Nanjing became a slaughterhouse of blood and flesh.

Lin Shuying and Su Mingzhu, sisters from an embroidery workshop, went from talented needleworkers skilled at stitching phoenixes and painted birds to a living hell with no way out. The elder sister, Shuying, was gentle yet resilient. The younger sister, Mingzhu, was lively and fierce. Forced to struggle through mountains of corpses and seas of blood, they witnessed countless horrors. Their only conviction was to survive!

But when the fangs of beasts drew closer and closer to innocent children, and silence meant being forgotten forever... even the softest thread could become the sharpest blade!

“Mingzhu, we can’t embroider only flowers, birds, insects, and fish.” Facing the inferno, a flame of fierce resolve lit in the eyes of the elder sister, Lin Shuying.

Using her needle as a pen and silk as her scroll, she embroidered damning evidence of the Japanese invaders’ crimes, stitch by stitch, into a magnificent tapestry right under their noses! Her younger sister, Su Mingzhu, became her sword and shield, navigating danger and passing along intelligence.

On one side was a “hymn” that had to be carefully embroidered and offered to the demons. Hidden within it was an anguished indictment, written in blood. In this dance on the edge of a blade, every step led over an abyss.

Until the day when, to protect the last glimmer of hope and the deadly embroidery, the gentle elder sister resolutely chose to face death and live, dazzling the inferno with her unflinching courage...

Can the younger sister who survives carry the blood-red twin lotus that her sister embroidered with her life, pierce the endless night, and bring the truth to light?

Witness how these sisters, cornered by despair, turn brocade into armor and slender fingers into spears, embroidering the dawn in Jinling’s darkest night!
