Palace Intrigue Stand-In: I Topple the Harem with My Many Personas

My name is Su Yunxi. I’m a farm girl from a watery Jiangnan village. Every day, I toil in the fields under the blazing sun and listen to the neighbors gossip. My life was dull and stifling, until the day people from the palace came and said I looked like the late “Noble Lady Shen.” They wanted to take me into the palace as her replacement.

Before entering the palace, I thought I was simply changing workplaces. I never imagined the imperial harem would be a place that devoured people. The Empress was jealous that the Emperor treated me “specially” and tripped me up at every turn. The Noble Consort wanted to manipulate me like a pawn, relying on her family’s influence. Even the palace maids and eunuchs around me looked down on my humble origins and bullied me both openly and behind my back.
