The Art of Face Reading

Bing means clarity; Jian means insight into one's surroundings. Zicheng, a Celestial Master, devoted his life to cultivating himself in the world. He was strict with himself, fair in rewarding and punishing, thrifty, committed to self-cultivation, respectful of the seasons, rigorous in scholarship, upright in character, and an advocate of the Confucian ideals of making a name through achievement, virtue, and words. He could perceive the tiniest details and see through hidden truths. He passed on all his lifelong learning to Lin Shouzhuo. Lin Xiang could size someone up at a glance. By observing a person's words, actions, expressions, and emotions, he could sum up their character, personality, inner thoughts, state of mind, and experience in dealing with the world, then infer their future and fate. He was the forefather of modern psychology and behavioral science.
