Dust Beneath the Dome

After the cataclysm, the Lighthouse Dome became humanity’s last refuge. Orderly and climate-controlled, it came at the cost of permanent confinement and the erasure of history.

Ling Li is a “Dustfolk,” struggling to survive in the Dome’s lowest levels by salvaging old-world parts from the scrap yards. One day, by chance, he finds a damaged recorder. Flickering across its screen are images of the old world: an endless blue expanse called the “ocean.” For the first time, he begins to doubt the stories about the “dead lands” beyond the Dome.

He takes the recorder to An Ying, an archivist who resents the official history. Together, they are shaken by the splendor of the lost world and resolve to decipher the final signal in the recorder, which points to coordinates outside.

Their search touches the most sensitive nerve of the Dome’s rulers, and the pursuit begins. Two tiny, dust-like individuals venture into ruins declared absolutely deadly, determined to reach for an unknown possibility and find humanity a true dawn amid the apocalypse’s twilight.
