Reunited at the Heart of the Storm

Ten years ago, the school bully Jiang Chi pinned me underfoot and humiliated me in front of everyone. “People like you deserve nothing but a life on your knees.”

Ten years later, his family was ruined and he had nowhere left to turn. He became an intern at my company.

I made him stay up all night revising the thirteenth version of a worthless draft, and had the whole company ostracize him as I watched him struggle on the verge of collapse.

Until, in front of everyone, his knees buckled and he pleaded hoarsely, “President Wen, please... give me one more chance.”

I slowly took off my glasses, looked down at his ashen face, and smiled coldly.

“Jiang Chi, what goes around comes around. Now you're the one on your knees, begging me.”
