A Happy Union: May Every Year Bring Abundance

Good Match: May You Have Plenty Year After Year

In the century-old courtyard at 37 Jinyu Hutong, five couples clash over real-life troubles like demolition, infidelity, and pressure to marry. When a goldfish from the old well turns into a mysterious pendant, they are dragged into a series of time-travel trials inspired by the Forbidden City, Guomao, and Xierqi. They must confess their lies in a subway car surrounded by piranhas and rediscover their true feelings in a byte maze built from code. With authentic Beijing dialect and vivid details that bring everyday romance to life, the author takes us through laughter, arguments, and trials of life and death, as five couples cross the rifts of time and find their way to a happy ending.
