Sixteen Heroes of Yanyun: Volume One

Yan Bisheng, a good-for-nothing disciple of the Demon Suppression Bureau, accidentally activates his ancestral jade pendant and awakens fragments of the Demon Suppression Token, becoming embroiled in the theft of the Evil-Sealing Box and a demonic corruption crisis. He gathers the righteous but greedy Chu Qianji, the aloof physician Shen Qingluo, the mechanical-limbed warrior Zhan Wubai, and Nangong Yu, the last survivor of the Witchcraft Cult, to search for the twelve scattered fragments.

Along the way, the truth behind his grandfather Yan Zhennan's supposed death in the line of duty, the secrets of the Witchcraft Cult's slaughter, and a traitor's conspiracy within the Demon Suppression Bureau come to light one after another. They also uncover a shocking plot: the Starfall Civilization is controlling evil spirits and harvesting souls. From secret battles in the imperial palace to deadly fights in the Cave of Ten Thousand Gu, from sealing the Demon Lord to stopping the reopening of an interstellar passage, these passionate young people grow and transform in the face of death, wielding their bloodlines as blades and their trust as shields. They take on the ultimate mission of protecting Earth.
