I Repair Everything, and You Too

Lin Zhou is a down-on-his-luck man who was kicked out of the antique restoration world. Deep in debt and on the verge of being thrown out by his landlord, he has hit rock bottom. Just when he thinks his life cannot get any worse, a thing called the [Everything Restoration System] pops up in a blue window before his eyes, like an ad for a third-rate online game.

The System gives him no money and no miraculous martial arts skills. Instead, it is obsessed with making him fix all kinds of junk, from rusty scissors and broken porcelain to snapped strings on ancient zithers and silent music boxes.

Lin Zhou initially thinks it is a useless System that will only hone his skills as a “junk expert.” Then he discovers that every time he restores an old object, he gains astonishing skills and wealth, and can glimpse the memories, regrets, and obsessions buried within it.

Restore a broken mirror, and estranged lovers can reconcile.

Restore an ancient book, and he can speak across time with sages from a hundred years ago.

Restore a suit of armor, and he can experience the heroic spirit of armies clashing on the battlefield.

From then on, Lin Zhou follows an unconventional path of restoration. Others restore objects; he restores hearts and the passage of time.

When business tycoons kneel before him with family heirlooms, begging for his help; when peerless beauties come to him in tears, asking him to restore tokens of their love; when a mysterious organization is willing to start a war over an item he has restored...

Lin Zhou merely yawns lazily. “Don’t rush. Get in line. Next up is that lucky cat missing a leg. I have a feeling its story will be interesting.”
