(Two male leads)
Su Wen, the good-for-nothing second young master of the Marquis of Zhenbei's household, has spent ten unremarkable years as the senior apprentice brother of an immortal sect. Everyone thinks his spiritual roots are too mixed for him to ever achieve the Great Dao. No one knows that he has long been cultivating all five disciplines: talismans, formations, alchemy, artifact crafting, and swordsmanship. He has only been preparing a sure path to survival in this cutthroat world of cultivation.
During a sect trial, Su Wen happens upon a silly boy in the ruins left behind by a demon-clan massacre and takes him in. The kid is immensely strong, feels no pain when beaten, and can't be killed no matter what anyone does to him. His brain may not work too well, though, and his one obsession is getting enough to eat.
Su Wen says, “You silly kid, stick with me from now on. Call me Senior Brother, and I'll keep you fed.” From then on, he has a junior apprentice brother named Wang Changsheng.
While the sect's prodigies are still fighting tooth and nail over a single pill, Su Wen quietly feeds his junior brother, whose appetite rivals that of a divine beast. While the great factions still fear the demon clan's might, Su Wen is already directing his invincible junior brother to smash his enemies to dust, one by one. He had planned to train his junior brother into the strongest meat shield, while staying safely behind the scenes as a crafty schemer. But gradually, he realizes that this deathless junior brother seems to harbor a secret powerful enough to shake the entire world.
