Becoming an Emperor at the End of the Eastern Han tells the story of modern brothers Mingsheng and Shijun, who transmigrate to the final years of the Eastern Han dynasty. They each establish a regime, the You Kingdom and Annan, ultimately triggering a time paradox. Mingsheng names Ming Hao, his adopted son of Miao and Yue descent, as his heir and allies with powerful families in Lingnan to oppose Eastern Wu. Shijun, meanwhile, conquers Champa and Funan, secretly plotting to reverse time with a bronze casket. When the two emperors meet at Hengshan, they fall out over the choice of heir and the truth about the bronze casket, which requires imperial blood as a sacrifice. On a stormy night in 239, they activate the casket at the observatory and vanish in a flash of light. Later records say that the You Kingdom lasted 150 years and had seven emperors before it fell. The Unofficial History of Jiaozhou claims that “the two emperors became rainbows,” hinting that they were pawns of a higher-dimensional existence all along. Blending transmigration, political intrigue, and science fiction, the story explores individuals struggling against the currents of history and their own fates.
