The Buddha's Beloved in His Palm

[Childhood Friend Male Second Lead Takes the Lead] [Secret Crush Becomes Mutual] [Devoted Love] [Sweet Romance, No Angst] [SC] [1v1]

A restrained, noble Buddhist devotee vs. a spoiled, willful childhood friend

At one of the finest private schools in the capital, Fu Sinian was a legend.

His elite family background and top grades were his least remarkable qualities. What really drew people's eyes was the string of dark Buddhist beads around his wrist, and the pair of peach-blossom eyes that seemed tender even when looking at a dog, yet were filled with an aloofness that kept everyone at a distance.

His restrained air drove every girl at school wild, but no one dared approach him. No one except Shen An'an.

Fu Sinian, lend me your notes.

Fu Sinian, get me an iced grape-and-cheese drink with just thirty percent sugar.

Fu Sinian, look at the forum! Senior Lu is so handsome!

She was the only bug in his orderly life, the one inner demon he couldn't calm even after counting his Buddhist beads for the 108th time.

He indulged every one of her whims, but when he heard her praise someone else, his fingers paused, and a crack silently appeared in the sandalwood beads.

That day, rain poured down in torrents, and the balloons she'd prepared to confess to someone else broke miserably in a puddle.

Amid the countless onlookers, the Buddhist devotee everyone thought wanted nothing suddenly strode straight through the rain and swept her into his arms.

A black Bentley crushed through the puddles and drove straight to the city's most expensive luxury apartment.

In a room steeped in the scent of cedar, he pinned her against the floor-to-ceiling window, with the city's neon lights spread out beyond it.

His warm lips brushed her rain-damp ear, while the cold Buddhist beads on his wrist pressed into the soft flesh of her waist.

"I've copied so many sutras," he said in a low, husky voice that mingled with the rain and struck her heart. "I have only one wish: for this delicate flower to bloom for me alone."
