Beast World Engineer

The strongest silver wolf warrior in the wolf clan, Lei En, has brought rare prey to dump at the entrance of my cave for the umpteenth time. As an engineer who came here to build a civilized society, I can only sigh as I watch him use the wolf clan’s courtship customs to offer me generator parts. After I reject him, the whole tribe condemns me for humiliating a hero, until I activate the mechanical city walls.

Under the night sky, every device hums to life. In the glare of the lights, giant beasts cry out and collapse.

Lei En suddenly shifts into human form and steps toward me. “You said you don’t love the uncivilized. So this light of civilization... could it shine on me?”
