Journey to the West: Tricking Sun Wukong Right After His Birth

After transmigrating to the world of Journey to the West, Chen Fan became the least noteworthy local deity on Flower-Fruit Mountain. He chose to stay out of worldly affairs and quietly sign in for three hundred years.

He thought he could live as a carefree rogue immortal and watch the grand Journey to the West unfold. Then, on the day the Stone Monkey was born, the Buddhist Vajra guardians ruthlessly flattened his shrine to ensure the “Chosen One” came to no harm, cutting off the source of his worship!

Three hundred years of hard cultivation, wiped out in a single day!

[Ding! God-tier Choice System activated!]

[Choice One: Swallow your anger and assist Buddhism to attain Buddhahood.]

[Choice Two: Stay out of it and watch the ceremony to earn ten million merits.]

[Choice Three: Flip the board, end the myths, and usher in the Age of Dharma Decline! Reward: Nine Revolutions Mysterious Origin Art!]

“You destroyed my shrine and still expect Buddhism to flourish?”

Killing intent surged in Chen Fan’s eyes. “I choose three!”

From that day onward, the script of Journey to the West was torn to pieces.

Sun Wukong never caused Havoc in Heaven. Instead, he became the foremost general under Chen Fan, his staff pointed at Mount Ling.

Tang Sanzang never journeyed west to fetch the scriptures. Instead, he became a pioneer of humanism, writing books and enlightening the people.

The gods and Buddhas across the heavens discovered that worship from the mortal world was dwindling and the spiritual qi of heaven and earth was drying up. The very foundation they depended on for survival was being severed, bit by bit, by an invisible hand!

When Mount Ling collapsed and the Celestial Court fell, the Buddhas and immortals were horrified to discover that the local deity they had once crushed without a second thought now stood above all living beings, coldly declaring:

“From this day on, there will be no more gods or Buddhas in the mortal world. All living beings are free!”
